ReMarkable Theatre Co.

ABOUT the ReMarkable Theatre Company –

A not-for-profit, community based Theatre Company in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, run by husband and wife – Mark and Rebecca Howley, along with a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers.

The group gives free theatre-places to 7-16 year olds in Bridlington, providing a fun and safe environment in which to experience the magic of stage performance. We rehearse weekly and usually do 2 to 3 shows a year at venues across Bridlington under the name “ReMarkable Kids”.

The aim of this group is to provide excellence in local theatre – to share the wonderful experience of the theatre with as many children as possible, helping to develop confidence and self-worth along the way. The nature of the productions we put on mean all the children are involved equally – no-one is stuck at the back of the stage playing a tree! Our core principal is access for all.

We currently run one group with a maximum capacity of 30 and we have a waiting list almost big enough to start a second group.

We also have a partnership with New Pasture Lane School, which includes a contract to run theatre workshops within the school. In addition we offer music and dance tuition in school, as well as working with adults with disabilities

NEW FOR 2014

ROCK ORCHESTRA & CHOIR

For 2014 we are running a Rock orchestra & choir for young people aged 19 and below.

We are looking for young, enthusiastic singers & musicians – with all abilities welcome to try out, though there will be a short audition.

The orchestra will play popular music (with a rocky edge) and members will have the chance to work with professional musicians, creating live music and experiencing the pure pleasure of making music with other young musicians.
To run along side the rock orchestra we have our very own Rock choir

If you play guitar, piano/keyboards, violin, brass, organ or kazoo – or if you can sing a note or two – then don’t delay, call or text 07943276496 or email remarkable.tc@hotmail.co.uk.

Membership is limited, so please get in quick if you want to be a part of it

OUR NEXT PRODUCTION

For 2015 Remarkable kids will again be featuring at the Bridlington Arts Festival. On May 16th they will be presenting a show at the Spa Theatre Bridlington – so keep your eyes open!

OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SJB

The experience of working at SJB has been a completely positive one. The team there are incredibly friendly and helpful and we are extremely grateful to them for the fantastic welcome they have shown us, especially Dave Wilcockson, who has helped us immeasurably.
Everyone around the place has been so friendly and as an organisation we can say that they have shown us a true Christian Spirit.
Thank you from all at ReMarkable.

My name is Suzanne Hall. My 10 year old daughter would be very interested in joining your group. She has some singing and performing experience gained from her time attending Quay Academy. For the last three years she has taken part in Junior Rock Challenge. She has also taken part in the Young Voices choir held at Sheffield Arena for the last two years. We look forward to hearing from you.
